Greene County's McKinley Robbins, ranked No. 1 at 138 pounds, is off to a 19-0 start so far this winter, putting him just 13 wins from breaking the all-time school record, sitting at 135 total victories. Robbins is currently third on the all-time wins list, recently moving past Marty Ball, who won 129 matches in his career. He needs 148 wins to set the new mark. MARK SCHAFER | CARROLL TIMES HERALD

Greene County senior wrestler McKinley Robbins is inching closer to a massive record. The Oregon State commit entered the 2022-23 with a 116-6 career record, 32 wins shy of breaking the all-time wins mark held by the late Chase Flack (147).

Robbins, ranked No. 1 at 138 pounds, is off to a 19-0 start so far this winter, putting him just 13 wins from breaking the all-time record, sitting at 135 total victories. Robbins is currently third on the all-time wins list, recently moving past Marty Ball, who won 129 matches in his career at Jefferson-Scranton. Travis Forkner is next in line in second place with 144 career victories.

Robbins won a state title in 2021 while he has also finished runner-up twice, in 2020 as a freshman and last winter as a junior. He’s the only three-time state finalist in Jefferson-based school history and very well may extend that streak to four, already having tallied 10 state tournament wins. The senior has never won less than 34 matches in a single year, achieving a career-high in wins last winter with 45. Robbins is also hoping to become Jefferson’s first-ever two-time state champion in February.
